With only a few more weeks to go to the end of 2012, the pressure is on to complete as much as possible before some of us break away for a rewarding holiday, whilst others continue to work hard and kick more goals.

There are four factors to consider when hiring starting with the most important Production. Nothing else is really important if you cannot find any indication that your candidate can produce the results you expect.

2. PERSONALITY
Only if you can see a good sign of the above, you’ll be interested to know about Personality. Personality allows you to understand HOW a person achieves their results, and what could be holding them back from achieving more. There are some areas in a person’s personality that can make them more ‘high maintenance’ than others meaning they will need more time and attention from management. YOU need know what exactly these are to help your decision as well as managing the candidate to help them increase their production.

3. MOTIVATION
What motivates your candidate to produce results and ultimately join your company is going to be quite important as it will determine their stability in the future as well as help you understand if it is something you can accomodate. 4. KNOWLEDGE
In jobs where training can be provided you can usually leave the knowledge checking for the last area to check. In other roles where cetain requirements are necessary such as a License for Pilots and training will take too long, it’s best to check for this first! Where possible if you can provide training, you will be able to widen your scope of applicants and even have a better chance than your competitors to get better quality applicants who are productive, fit to the role, and WILLING TO LEARN & CONTRIBUTE.
